In 2016, the great plaza before the Western Wall was opened for renovation, and the stone that had lain there for generations was lifted from the ground. Stone that had stood in the open air of Jerusalem, in the one place the prayers of the world have always gathered, was about to be carried off as rubble. Instead it was saved.

Every Me'Zuzah is cut from that stone and carved into the silhouette of the Land of Israel, so that what stands watch at your door is the Land itself, shaped from the rock of its holiest place. The Kotel, brought to your doorway, to be passed from one hand to the next, l'dor vador. No two are alike. The stone keeps its own color, its own marks, the line of its own coast. And there is only so much of it.

The Lintel is its companion piece, the same Land and the same gold Shin, cut from the same reclaimed Kotel stone. It carries no ornament and asks for none, a quiet sign set at the doorway of an everyday home. No two stones are alike. One of twenty-six, each numbered.

The stone is heavy, so each Me'Zuzah is hand-bonded to a solid metal back plate that carries its weight and holds it true on the doorpost, fixed with screws in the matching finish. The stone itself is never drilled. Choose your plate in black, white, silver, or copper.

Each Me’Zuzah is individually shaped from natural stone, so dimensions may vary slightly. The stone measures approximately 10" H × 2.75" W × 1.5" D. With the pre-attached mounting plate, the overall footprint is approximately 11" H × 3" W. The mounting plate is approximately 0.08" thick.
